Coal Chamber photos from April 9, 2015 – Atlanta, Ga

With everything going on lately, I have fallen a bit behind on posting and uploading photos and reviews, Between travelling for shows, getting the new studio ready, etc I barely have time to pay attention lately, so I’m adding a lot the past few days in an effort to catch up.

I made the drive down to Atlanta last month to see and photograph Coal Chamber, and hang with old friends Dez and Nadja. They played the infamous Masquerade which is a 3 level club each level aptly titled from the bottom up – Hell, Purgatory and Heaven, of which this show was in heaven…lol . It had been quite a number of years since I had seen the band perform live, to be specific it had been since 1997 on Ozzfest ! Prior to the show I spent some time on the bus catching up with Dez, enjoying some mother nature as well as a few glasses of amazing wine, while listening to a variety of great outlaw country greats like Waylon, Willie, Johhny and Jamey Johnson.

They hit the stage with Loco right out of the gate and got the crowd moving and never let them down until the last note. So glad to see them back together again and on the road. I am looking very forward to catching them again later this year with Fear factory, depending on my schedule, I may head out for a few shows.

I spent a few days on the road with my friend and season 7 winner of The Voice Craig Wayne Boyd, and covered two shows back home in Chicago and Milwaukee. Friday was a sold out show at Joe’s On Weed St, amazing show and crowd. Saturday we were in Milwaukee Wi at The Rave, my old home venue. I started going to shows here as a teenager in the 90s, that included the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam, at this time you could go bowling with Pearl Jam for $10 after the show ! I have probably seen over 200 shows at this venue, and have some amazing memories, it’s also where I began my career and cut my teeth shooting bands like Slayer, Tesla, Megadeth, Danzig, Damageplan, Deftones, Machine Head, Hatebreed, Ted Nugent and TONS of others, and now CRAIG !! It was a very cool night for me to get to share this with him in my home town. Craig was the very first person I met and friend I made the night I moved to Nashville 6 years ago. I told him many times,he was going to be a star some day and that we would be on a tour bus together, to which he would always reply ” I hope so bud” . WEll….. we can cross that one of the bucket list now.

You can see photos from both these shows here:

Two weeks ago I spent two sold out nights at the legendary Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville with Rick Springfield. I say this everytime year after seeing his two annual Valentine shows here, Do yourself a favor and see one of his shows if you get the chance. At 65 years young, he is  an absolutely AMAZING front man that artists half his age could learn a lot from ! With a set list full of mtv, radio and movie hits spanning 30 years the crowd ranges from 5 – 70 , and they travel from all over the country to see and meet him. You can view photos from the shows here :

My friends, and current top 5 contestant on The Voice came home to Nashville today fresh off a red eye flight from Hollywood and performed a 1 off homecoming

show to a packed house of fans in his hometown of Nashville, Tn at the legendary Wildhorse Saloon. Fans of all ages began to lineup outside the venue as early as 5pm, and came out in droves to show love and support for their hometown favorite . A handful of lucky fans were bale to get an autograph and photos with Craig as he spoke to media on the red carpet prior to the show. They were lined up 4 deep down the entire block, chanting “Craig, Craig, Craig, Craig sporting a large assortment of beautiful handmade signs.  In true CWB fashion he and his band lit the stage up and performed an amazing set of fan favorites from the current season of The Voice, including his incredibly moving of the Cash classic, I Walk The Line. To Craig’s surprise as well as those in attendance, his long time friend and country star Randy Houser made a special appearance, and they performed two songs together. I could not be more proud of him,and  excited for him, and his current and future success. It’s been a long time in the making, and the world is getting to see what a true talent he is. Be sure and tune into The Voice next week and vote vote vote.
